FSE Provides Engineering Scholarship

June 2019

>FSE was excited to work with the Society of American Military Engineers to, once again, award an FSE scholarship! The scholarship for $1,000 was presented to Rachel Kahler on Thursday, June 13.

A committee narrowed down 35 applicants to ten possible winners. Nick McDonald, Commissioning Field Manager at FSE, selected Rachel. "She stood out for a number of reasons, particularly because she was so specific in her goals," explains Nick. "She struck me as someone who was very motivated."

Rachel plans to attend the University of Texas to study electrical engineering and astrophysics, with the goal of researching renewable energy on Mars. In fact, Rachel has already participated in several research projects at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio on renewable energy on Mars.

"We are excited to help provide her with financial aid to help her achieve these incredible goals!" Nick adds. "We know we will see great things from her in the future!"
